A Note From Your Instructor....

Again, let me thank you for visiting the web pages for The Threshing Floor.  My name is Holly Fidanzo, and I'm the owner/principal instructor of this ballroom dance company.  While my dance training began at the age of three, making bridges with my body and jumping around with scarves hardly qualifies me as your trusted swing instructor.  I began studying ballroom in Jacksonville, Florida after I'd taught ballet, tap and jazz here in Oregon.  Ballroom is something that integrates with your being and is extremely hard to let go.  I had been taught and molded by some of the best instructors and national champions in those days: Bruno Collins and Luann Pulliam, Jack Davy, and the dozens of champions who would come through the Jacksonville Studio for one-day seminars.

The Threshing Floor began partly because of my love for partnership dancing, partly because of my disapproval of large studios, and mostly because of my love for the benefits of ballroom between couples.

The difference between The Threshing Floor and other studios:

  • The Antonia Ballroom is exclusively yours for the course of your private lesson.  There will be no other students on the floor to be self-conscious about.
  • There are three ways to go about paying for lessons, one at a time, in a group of five (with a discount), or a group of ten (with a discount).  Those choices will never change, choose what you'd like for your specific budget.
  • The Threshing Floor does not train for competition.  We teach social dancing, for a social dance floor.
